A multimedia installation and dance performance by 12H Dance, Ziepert and Tzavara
Grenz.land deals with the phenomenon of borders in our society today – not only as a geographical separation between nation states, but also within one’s own country. The dance performance enables insights into the debate of belonging, exclusion and boundaries. Feelings with which “newcomers” in particular are confronted.
To this end, the artist collective 12H Dance, Ziepert & Tzavara formed a situated methodology, that involved meeting immigrants of various backgrounds and stories in every place they performed.
Based on the moving experiences of the participants, the artists developed a multimedia dance piece and an audiovisual installation for the public space, relevant to the story of each specific place the piece was presented.
